Location of Corralea Forest Lodge

County Fermanagh is one of the most beautiful counties of Northern Ireland, with almost a third of the 1,991 sq. km covered by lakes and waterways, offering unrivalled scenery. Nestled on a small island separating Upper and Lower Lough Erne, Enniskillen's beautiful waterside setting, bustling with cruisers in the summer, makes it the perfect base to explore the charms of County Fermanagh. Corralea Forest Lodge is located 13.7 miles West of Enniskillen Town Centre and is perched on the tranquil shores of the picturesque Upper Lough MacNean. Lough MacNean is a large freshwater lake divided into two parts. Lower Lough MacNean the smaller eastern lake, is located in County Fermanagh whilst Upper Lough MacNean, the larger western lake, is split between County Fermanagh, County Cavan, and County Leitrim. Upper Lough MacNean is suitable for boat fishing for Pike as well as Trout, the latter usually during the mayfly season. Corralea Forest Lodge benefits from an extremely private setting and a wonderful feeling of remoteness, yet basic facilities are provided by Belcoo which is approximately 3.1 miles away. A more comprehensive range of facilities and services can be found in Enniskillen (13.7 miles). An abundance of sporting and leisure activities are available nearby, with Corralea Activity Centre just a stone's throw away offering canoeing, archery & SUP boards. Share Discovery Village is also located a short 23 miles distant offering kayaking, sailing, mountain biking, banana boating, and an inflatable water park for all the family to enjoy. For golfing enthusiast, Blacklion's scenic 1962 Eddie Hackett designed parkland course, is 6 km distant via the shores of Upper Lough MacNean. Enniskillen's 18-hole parkland course within Castlecoole Estate is also nearby (15.5 miles), with Castlehume Golf Club 17.4 miles distant. Castlehume's 18 hole parkland course is established as one of the best golfing facilities the Northwest has to offer and has hosted the Ulster PGA Championships an unprecedented ten years in a row. Local schooling is available at St Columban's Primary (2.5 miles), St Patricks National School (5 miles) Killyhommon Primary (9.9 miles), Ballaghameehan National School (12.4 miles), and Derrygonnelly Primary (15.5 miles).

description

Corralea Forest Lodge is a superbly located property occupying a south-easterly facing elevated position, with breath taking views over Upper Lough MacNean. A key feature of the property is that the southern boundary is formed by approximately 880m of water frontage.

The property is accessed from the B52 Lattone Road through a gated entrance. A private, sweeping driveway through the wood land leads to the front of the house where there is ample parking.

Corralea Forest Lodge was constructed in 1979 as Northern Ireland's first purpose-built bed & breakfast accommodation and has been beautifully designed by former architect Ken Scott to take advantage of the spectacular, panoramic views over the lake and surrounding scenery. The bright accommodation is laid out over two floors of generous and elegant proportions, as shown on the accompanying plans. The layout offers the potential for separate family living quarters, or the option to convert the premises back to bed and breakfast accommodation to generate income.

The gardens and grounds are a key feature of the property. Immediately to the south of the house is a small formal garden bound by a hedgerow, comprising a range of trees and well stocked beds with flowing plants and shrubs. Mature woods form the majority of the remainder of the grounds within the property and provide wonderful walks, privacy and amenity, as well as a haven for wildlife.

The property further benefits from its own private jetty and boathouse providing direct access to Upper Lough MacNean. There is an abundance of amenity at the property, including wildlife & sporting opportunities.
