The subject property is located 6 km north west of the village of Ballycroy and approximately 3.5 km off the main Belmullet road (N59) in the townland of Blenkeragh.   This is close to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and the estuary with the Owenduff River.   The surrounding area comprises largely of undeveloped farmlands and is a most picturesque, scenic location on the Atlantic coast of County Mayo.  It comprises mainly of farmland, although there are a small number of rural houses within the vicinity.  The property is accessed via a small local access road being situated 3.5 km off the main Belmullet road.
