Department for Communities (DfC) and Belfast City Council (BCC) have brought forward a reimagined kiosk in the city core as part of a wider programme of physical and environmental improvement works aimed at enhancing the city centre and driving footfall. More information on the design can be found below. The subject is a newly designed and installed kiosk, located on Castle Place at its intersection with Royal Avenue. The kiosk benefits from high levels of footfall, being located on one of Belfast’s prime retail pitches.
The kiosk is comprised of two closable Corten steel units. Unit 1 is fitted out to facilitate a coffee kiosk, with counter tops, display areas and shelving (see plan drawing for exact layout). Note the unit will not include fittings such as sink, coffee machine, fridge. Unit 2 is designed to facilitate the display and sale of a second commodity. This unit is comprised of shelving and presentation cases which would allow for the display of a range of commodities
