Valuation Report

If you are borrowing money in order to purchase your new home, it is common practice for your lender to require a valuation report to be carried out on the property. This is to ensure that it is worth the amount of money you are going to pay for it, thereby convincing your lender that it can be used as suitable security against your mortgage. A professional valuer should always complete this task. Their fee is usually around €125.

Structural Surveys

A structural survey assesses the condition of all aspects of the property and in this respect is far more detailed than a valuation. Normally structural surveys are commissioned by the prospective buyer for their own benefit and have no part to play in organising finance for the purchase of the property. A surveyor’s report usually costs around €380.
