It is an exceptionally good Pike lake and there are also large stocks of Roach and Bream.  The lake is also popular to boat on and to swim in.

 

Lough Derravaragh is famously the lake which the Children Of Lir spent their three hundred years as swans, having been turned in to swans by their wicked stepmother.

 

GOLFING
The golf enthusiast is well catered for in the surrounding area with five quality golf courses within half an hours drive.  The five golf courses are Glasson Golf and Country Club, Moate Golf Club, Mount Temple Golf Course, Mullingar & Delvin Golf club.

 

RACING
