LAKELAND FISHERY is set in 15 acres in the heart of Irelands Lakeland. The complex is Irelands' premier commercial fishery, providing accessible all weather fishing and angling when many venues on the River Shannon are inaccessible (due to fluctuating water levels).
LAKELAND FISHERY provides everything for the discerning angler in a beautiful and peaceful setting, with the opportunity to catch most species including carp, big hybrids, tench and bream in Ireland. Matt Hayes of Sky television visited this fishery and concluded that it offered challenging fishing for quality fish and, as such, adds another dimension to fishing in Ireland. The carp initially introduced have flourished into specimen fish to the degree that in 2001 carp were regularly being caught in excess of 30lb.
THE FISHERY OWNER, Irish international angler Derek Rowley, constantly monitors the lakes to ensure the fish are well looked after and stock levels are regularly checked. The fishery provides angling tuition for the novice or young anglers. A well-stocked tackle shop, supplies all bait and tackle required for every species from tench - carp.

Mallard Lake
Mallard is the specimen lake built in 1998 and is well established with aquatic plant life and floribunda. The carp initially introduced have flourished into specimen fish to the degree that in 2001 carp were regularly being caught in excess of 30lb. Hence the regular anglers refer to this lake as the carp lake.

Heron Lake
Heron Lake was constructed in 1999 and is the largest lake in the fishery, consisting of 60 pegs. This lake is very mature with a large island in the centre that is covered in aquatic plants and the occasional willow tree. This lake is a favourite for both match and pleasure anglers as it contains a large head of all species and an abundance amount of tench. During the summer months catches are mainly made up of tench with match weights in excess of 100lbs. On an average day in the summer most pleasure anglers are easily looking at 50+ tench in one sitting.

Kingfisher Lake
Kingfisher is the latest addition to the fishery, constructed in 2000. A centre island covered in willow trees gives shade and protection, and an abundance of insect life for the fish. This lake is ideal for the pole angler as the width to the island is only 13 meters and is stocked with different types of carp ranging from 3/4 lb to 3.5 lb. Matches in 2003 have required weights in excess of 90lb to frame.

The River Shannon Section
The river section is part of the river Shannon and is the most beautiful and ideal setting you could wish for. This section was used in the Rooskey festival and 40 kg was required to frame, consisting of bream, hybrids and roach. This part of the river is the main gateway for all salmon and sea trout on the way up river for spawning.
