The racecouse also has an envious reputation with quality racing including the five Classic races: Irish Derby; The Oaks; The 1000 Guineas; The 2000 Guineas and St. Leger.

Reputed to be the oldest continuous Thoroughbred Stud Farm in the world Brownstown Stud, this property being part of the recently disintegrated stud, has produced from its rich pasture an admirable number of Champions and influential Broodmares and Stallions in a long and colourful history. In addition to the rich racing tradition at Brownstown recently 2 horses bred and trained at the stud represented Ireland at Olympic Games

Enjoying a great position just off the Curragh of Kildare access to both the Curragh racecourse and any of the local areas equine associated facilities are within easy reach of Brownstown Lodge, as are most locations within Ireland from the nearby M7. Within a half mile hack of the property is the recently renovated Maddenstown grass gallop, while also nearby is a woodchip gallop. In all there are 7 miles of all-weather gallops and 19 miles of grass gallops within easy reach of the yard, giving varying gradients and a variety of surfaces to train over. Training jump fences are about a 20 minute hack away.

Situated off a quiet road just off The Curragh the lands at Brownstown Lodge are laid out in 2 large paddocks and are well sheltered from mature trees and hedging. This could make a fine training facility with a private residence or indeed an attractive family home within its own lands in its own right.
