Pinkerton Murray Win National Award

2nd May 2012

Pinkerton Murray  constantly strive to provide a service that exceeds all of their clients’ expectations, and last Friday their hard work was rewarded when they were honoured with two national awards as a direct result of their efforts.

The 2012 UK Estate Agent & Letting Agent Awards, or the ESTAs as they have become more affectionately known, were presented last Friday at the Hilton Hotel on London’s Park Lane in a lavish luncheon hosted by Phil Spencer of Channel 4’s Location Location Location. The awards were attended by over 500 of the UK’s elite estate agents in a ceremony that truly honoured the best in the business.

Pinkerton Murray went to this years ESTA's as both the 2010 & 2011 winners of Best Estate Agent in Northern Ireland and did not leave this years ceremony disappointed. This year Pinkerton Murray again scooped the prestigious title of ‘Best Estate Agent in Northern Ireland’, to which Phil Spencer said “This win is a competition record for any ESTA Agent”.

Phil Spencer continued “the great thing about the ESTAs is that the judges are the customers and the ESTAs are the most important and valuable awards in our industry. An ESTA is not an easy accolade to pick up, to win one requires a lot of hard work, over a very long period of time.”

The Awards were determined by extensive research carried out amongst all of the clients Pinkerton Murray had interacted with during 2011 and a series of mystery shopping visits.

Managing Director Victoria Pinkerton, explained "Quality industry awards are important, not only do they recognise the hard work and effort that our staff put into their jobs and the quality customer service they deliver, but it is a clear endorsement to any potential customer that Pinkerton Murray is serious about delivering high standards of service in an industry that often receives negative press"

“We feel that this award really justifies our efforts in ensuring our clients' needs are met and exceeded at every possible opportunity. Having seen the other strong entrants at this year's award ceremony, including other local estate agents, it makes us feel honoured that our clients hold us in such high regard.”

Over 33,000 votes were received, making the ESTAs the largest survey, as well as the most meaningful award scheme in the industry. Phil Spencer also pointed out that there were no categories for the likes of Best Marketing Campaign or Lifetime Achievement in the Industry “These don’t mean anything to the consumer; the ESTA Awards are purely about the consumer experience.”

Jonathan Dickson, Senior Valuer at Pinkerton Murray enthused “To win an ESTA, a firm has to demonstrate a consistently high level of service and, to achieve this, they must ensure that staff follow those standards of efficiency, good communication and transparency. As winners of an ESTA for the third consecutive year it is those high standards that we produce on a daily basis which differentiates exceptional agents such as Pinkerton Murray from the ordinary agents.”

Richard Johnson, Manager at Pinkerton Murray continued “As we deal with a substantial volume of properties on a daily basis it is paramount to our continuing success that our people and systems are the best. We have all worked hard to build an enviable reputation in the area for delivering a high level of service to all of our clients and, as this award is voted for by customers, the people who really count, to be a recipient of this accolade has extra significance for us.”

After checking with the organisers Pinkerton Murray were the only agent to score highly enough to be shortlisted. There were several agents from NI that entered but just simply didnt achieve the level needed to get shortlisted.

Well, if they're the only estate agent from Northern Ireland to enter then the award is fair. All other estate agents should be entering these competitions, and striving to win. It's actually quite disappointing that no other estate agent bothered to enter, especially when a national and highly recognised award is up for grabs. Congratulations to Pinkerton Murray!

I wonder how many estate agents in Northern Ireland have actually entered for the Estas. My guess would be 1. However if there was a good representation of local agents then congratulations!
